New York City elected the first True socialist for mayor. What does that mean and why would people elect a socialist for anything? We are going to try to show why as best as we can. It will be interesting once you realize just what socialism really is. The first thing we need to understand is what Zohran Mamdani promised to illustrate his socialist ideologies.

Perhaps one of Mamdani’s more novel ideas is creating a network of city-owned grocery stores across New York’s five boroughs, expanding on the six city-owned stores.
Shopping there would be cheaper for customers, according to Mamdani’s plan, because they would buy at wholesale prices, be exempt from rent or property taxes, and have centralised warehousing and distribution.
Mamdani also wants to make public buses free – the current fare for most riders is $2.90 – and he plans to make them faster, too. While Mamdani has estimated that his free bus plan would cost the city $630m a year, the chair of the MTA told Gothamist that it would be closer to $1b and require years of review as well as approval from MTA bond holders.
Lowering the high cost of child care is another part of Mamdani’s agenda.
“I would hear this again and again and again, both in my own personal life, as friends would tell me the plans they had to settle down and start a family, and how in their eyes that meant it was necessary to leave New York City, with child care being a big part of it,” Mamdani said in an interview with The New York Times.
Quality of life is a major concern for New Yorkers: Only 34% of New Yorkers ranked the city’s as excellent or good in 2025, down from 51% in 2017, according to a survey from the Citizens Budget Commission.
A flagship element of Mamdani’s platform is creating a Department of Community Safety, which would expand city mental health services, including building a system for mental health workers to respond to related 911 calls, instead of police. It includes placing outreach workers in 100 subway stations, and increasing funding for hate/violence prevention programmes by 800%.
That is a lot to offer, but like all socialists, he has not really shown where he would get the money from. He will be friendly at first, but in a month or two, his socialist ideology will take over. People see socialism as a good thing, but countries that have it are failing. Just to name a couple, Cuba and Venezuela!
Let us see what socialism is really all about. Maybe, people will wake up after reading it. We have to state here that Democrats are the party of socialists today with many being socialists themselves. Republicans do not dwell into that, but some are considered fascists. One thing both parties are is extremely cowardly. They find it better to be silent while our Constitution and freedom are dismantled by the socialists, Communists, Marxists, and fascists.
What is socialism? According to Britannica Money:
With this definition, we clearly see what Mamdani is going to do with New York City, and if WE THE PEOPLE sit back, socialists will take over our nation and make it into a terrible place for our children and families to live. Remember when Obama said he was going to transform our nation? Well, Mamdani is the first step, and he will become the soldier for the socialist takeover of our nation. People will say that will never happen, but the election in New York City shows the failure of believing socialists will not win. If we dive into the Democratic Party, most, if not all of them, are socialists or Communists.
- If we look at socialism, we find it is a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole:
“We want a real democratic and pluralist left party—one which unites all those who believe in socialism.”
We will also see people like Chuck Schumer, who is a supporter of socialism and Communism, showing their delight in having their first real socialist running a city like New York City. At least we have the Constitution that will keep Mamdani from ever being president because he is foreign-born. However, if Democrats ever win enough seats in the states and both houses, they will change that, too!
Socialism is a terrible tool of Communists, who begin with socialism, and when that fails, they jump up and state Communism will solve the issue. Mamdani has stated that he will run city-owned grocery stores. Here it becomes noticeably clear that his socialistic ideas are already being planned. Look at the socialist ideology and see that it already has one of the steps of socialism, which is the city running grocery stores, which is a point of distribution of goods and services. Socialism wants the government to run nearly every facet of your life, and if you complain, they may take your food away or other items they have taken over.
Socialism also works to make it appear that the government is helping them when, in fact, government is hurting them by denying them the choice of items or services. We can safely state that few, if any, socialist ideas of Mamdani will ever have no costs. People will find that the “free” things the socialist “gives” them are not free nor is it given without the loss of something and that something is liberty!
Democrats love these socialist ideologies because then they can keep you poor and voting for them while they take more freedoms away from you. Socialists have done that every time the people looked up and saw “FREE” stuff from the government. It always happens to those who do not wish to work or have a thinking mind.
Our nation was born into the hands of liberty, not socialism, Communism, Fascism, Marxism or any other form of “government”. You should stand up and look around at all the buildings, homes, streets, and most of all the liberty to see and work and do as you see fit within the bounds of laws. Under socialism, it will look great at first, but when those who pay for all that “free” stuff begin to leave because of socialism, you end up with the loss of what you grew up with, and your liberty to fight back will be limited to what the socialist government allows. Mamdani has already shown that by his statements of not adhering to our laws. Once again, under socialism, those who do not have to worry about crime or food live behind gated fences with the money you once had but now lack because you cannot make what you did before because the businesses left because they could not afford the wages socialists want you to make.
People of New York City, New York State, and finally our United States, you will not like socialism once it gets your throat under its feet, and the way back to Liberty will be a battle much like 1776. So, we must take heed and stop the move of socialism before we look like Venezuela, Cuba, Vietnam, or the other socialist countries of the world.
Stand up for liberty now or kneel down to your socialist masters later.
